Many new believers from Hindu backgrounds understand salvation in broad terms—they know they were lost and that Jesus saved them. But culturally, the concept of personal sin is often misunderstood.

Common assumptions:

• “I’m a good person because I haven’t murdered, stolen, or committed adultery.”
• “Sin is only the big, obvious things.”

What they often don’t realize:

Sin also includes:

• impatience
• anger when things don’t go our way
• twisting the truth to avoid consequences
• exaggerating to look better
• judging others
• selfishness
• resentment
• pride

These are sinful habits, not just “personality traits.” And they displease God just as much as the “big sins.”

Our training helps believers understand that:

1. Sin is deeper than actions—it’s attitudes, motives, and habits.
2. Jesus died for their personal sins, not just humanity in general.
